The inaugural issue of the 'Sri Pura' monthly e-newspaper published by the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council was released on 15^th of November 2023 marking a unique moment in its history. This is a creative work of the Council Media Unit.

To raise awareness about matters that lead to the development of general knowledge and the welfare of the lives of those who are young, middle-aged and old and to create pride about the capital city by raising awareness of the historical-cultural-literal value. The basic desire of launching this statement is to get the community's contribution to regularize the services provided by the Municipal Council and inform the things the public need to know about Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council.

Hon. Colombo District Minister of Parliament and the Chairman of Divisional Development Committee Attorney-at-Law Madhura Vithanage, Municipal Commissioner Mrs. R.A. Shalika S. Ranaweera, Municipal Secretary Mr. H.M. Dayaratne, Municipal Accountant Mr. K.M.P. Kumara, Municipal Veterinary Officer Dr. Ruvini S. Pimburage, Municipal Engineer Mrs. W.A.S. Damayanthi, Chief Public Health Inspector Mr. Malinda Jayawardane, Town Planner Mr. K. Zuhirthan, Internal Audit Officer Mr. K.I. Sampath De Silva and the staff of the Council media unit joined the event.

A group of primary grade students of Rajagiriya Obeysekarapura Siri Parakumba Vidyalaya went on a field trip to Rajagiriya Central Library on 20^th July 2023.

With the support of the staff of the Central Library throughout this event Mr. Sujeewa Fernando, Chief Librarian of Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Public Libraries, gave a very clear understanding to the children about the functioning of the library on this occasion.

A recycling centre to collect tins, cardboard, glass bottles, plastic bottles, polythene, coconut shells etc. released into the environment was held on 29^th and 30^th July 2023 in the area adjacent to the Welikada Police Station.

This activity was organized by the Municipal Health Department of Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council as a solution to the dengue disease which is spreading rapidly throughout Kotte area.

Two firefighting vehicles with high-tech facilities received from the central government were handed over to the Fire and Lifeguard Unit of the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council on 01-12-2022 by Colombo District Honorable Member of Parliament Attorney-at-Law Madhura Withanage.

These vehicles will serve a great purpose not only to the Kotte Municipal Council area but also to the Colombo district itself.

His Worship the Mayor of Kotte Mr. I. V. Premalal, Honorable Municipal Councilors Mr. Duminda Suresh Jayasundara, Mr. Prasanna Ravindralal, Mr. Damitha Pushpakumara, Municipal Commissioner Mrs. R. A. Shalika S. Ranaweera, Chief Municipal Medical Officer Dr. Manoj Rodrigo and Assistant Municipal Engineer Mr. Ajith Hettiarachchi joined this event.

Then, a dedication ceremony for these fire engines was held at the historic Raja Maha Viharaya in Kotte under the direction of the chief Rev. Aluthnuwara Anuruddha Nahimi.
